OH MY GOD

We kissed.
I felt a fire in my palms.
Your mouth opened, your eyelids dropped.
I never told you I loved you, but there I was with your beating heart in my hands.
And your body on the floor.

she closed the door with the intention of not looking back
but missed her step because she didn’t have a steady track

A Palestinian looks for human remains in a cemetery destroyed by an Israeli missile strike in the northern Gaza Strip on July 28, 2014. Monday marked the beginning of the three-day Eid al-Fitr holiday, which caps the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan. Muslims usually start the day by visiting cemeteries, to pay their respects to the dead, and then exchange family visits. (Lefteris Pitarakis/AP)

Even if someone makes something terrible—like the music the Insane Clown Posse makes—at least they’re doing something that speaks to them. And they kept going even though people told them it was terrible. And they found their audience, and now they built a community around their work. Look, you couldn’t pay me to listen to their music, but I still feel like I have more in common with the Insane Clown Posse than I do with someone who just sits on the sidelines and shits on other people’s work and who never puts themselves on the line.
